GenStocks is a complete application that provides advanced analyses of publicly-traded stocks. Via a neural/genetic algorithm, measures are quantified for the past performance of a stock in response to the news events and other market movements it may experience. GenStocks then searches through the vast selection of relevant stocks and then ranks them in order of highest probability of long-term profit. When appropriately trained, GenStocks will be able to provide very helpful decisions on a day-by-day basis.

How It Works: Training and Running the Algorithm

GenStocks is a desktop application. After installation, it will immediately start running a neural/genetic algorithm in the background. GenStocks will monitor the performance of its algorithm on a daily basis and will generate a sorted table of about 2,000-2,500 stocks.
By default, a new stock will be placed into the “on trial” list at the top of the table. If you would like to add one or more stocks to the trial list, just drag and drop them onto the list. If you would like to remove a stock from the list, select the stock, click on the Remove button and then click the Yes button in the confirmation dialogue box that appears.
Once the trial list is populated with the desired stocks, the neural/genetic algorithm is started. The algorithm will run for about 30 to 90 days (based on the users specification and available time).
After the algorithm has run, it will be shutdown. You are left with the tabbed window with the stock chart, the statistics window and the return tables. This is where the results of the algorithmic analysis will be visualized. You can view these tables by selecting a column heading. Or you can simply click on the relevant column.
