The Dallas Cowboys have signed linebacker Jay Ratliff to a contract, a source told ESPNDallas.com.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed linebacker Jay Ratliff to a contract, a source told ESPNDallas.com.

Ratliff spent his first nine seasons in Washington, the last three of which with the Redskins. He made the Pro Bowl in 2012 and 2011, and his 56 total tackles were second on the team last season.

Ratliff was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. In his rookie season he appeared in 12 games, starting three at middle linebacker. He posted 59 tackles, two sacks and one interception in that season.

The Cowboys will be taking some time to see where they are with Andre Williams at middle linebacker and the other linebackers.
