The basic, free versions of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements contain only the tools necessary for the most basic image manipulation. The more popular packages, including Photoshop CS4 Extended, Photoshop Elements 10, and Photoshop Lightroom, contain many more effects, layers, and features.

You don’t need Photoshop to edit and manipulate your images. However, because of Photoshop’s capabilities, you may need it to finish work that you get started with in the freeware.

Creating a master image

Photo editing professionals generally print images as fine art prints (usually on canvas or thick paper), but most home or office printers make generic, low-resolution prints. When you edit your image, you’ll want to export it for printing.

The process is the same for each version of Photoshop, except for Photoshop CS5 and CS6. To start, choose File⇒Export, and then choose the size and format of your print. Figure 9-1 shows you an example.

To export a high-resolution TIFF file, the minimum image size is 300 dpi. For a print, the paper size and resolution should match the destination: You can save a much larger print than you need, but for smaller sizes, you get less quality. You also need to have the resolution set to 300 dpi.

Choosing your print paper

When you choose a type of paper, be sure to pick the best available. A glossy paper type may look good, but the prints may bleed and there may be glare when light hits the paper’s surface. Avoid glossy paper for prints; instead, opt for matte paper, which reflects and absorbs light.

You can tell from a print quality’s matte coating how much glare is created by the paper. A glossy coating results in a lot of glare. You can experiment to determine which paper type is best for your image.

For an example of paper, see Figure 9-2.

Choosing a print paper size

Your printing capabilities can vary, but I recommend the following types of paper for a quality print:

Normal paper (81⁄2″ × 11″): This is your most basic and most common type of paper. The quantity of paper is determined by your printer

1. Enhanced Color Management

It was previously not possible to have a consistent color in an image created in Photoshop Elements and in other applications. Now, Photoshop Elements can match a color of an image properly regardless of how it was created. It will be possible to create a high-quality image in Photoshop Elements and then copy it to another format such as Instagram. Once the image was copied to Instagram, the color would be accurate on that application.

To provide such an accurate color matching, Photoshop Elements 2020 contains a new feature called Show Color and Reference. It allows the color of an image to be shown on any colorspace (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Blue, Green, Red, Hue, Saturation and Value) and a reference color to be shown.

To show the color of an image, simply open the image and right-click. An option for Show Color and Reference should appear.

2. Advanced Layers

Photoshop Elements 20 will be able to use 3D Layers. 3D Layers can be used to create a glass-like reflection in an image. Once created, 3D layers can be painted with various effects such as transparency, color, lighting, rotation, etc.

3. New Effects

In Photoshop Elements 2020, a variety of new effects are available.

Silver Efex Pro – is an effect that emphasizes the white spaces in an image. In the example below, the image was converted to Silver Efex Pro and then blurred.

I’m currently learning how to use Django, REST and I’m currently having some trouble with retrieving data from a post request.
Here’s the view I created:

DISCUSSION {#sec1-4}

A significant brain volume in healthy subjects, which is significantly smaller in the patients with depression, was found in the orbitofrontal cortex, the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the parahippocampal gyrus. Smaller or larger volumes of these regions have been previously reported in patients with depression.\[[@ref19][@ref20][@ref21][@ref22][@ref23]\]

In contrast, the volumes of the occipital and temporal cortices were found to be significantly larger. The highest significant correlation with the HAMD scores was found in the region of the right occipital gyrus, while the largest positive correlation was detected in the right inferior temporal gyrus. Smaller volumes of the occipital cortices have been previously reported in patients with depression.\[[@ref19]\]

Brain volume in patients with depression could be possibly influenced by the severity of depression, although we did not find any significant correlations with the HAMD score and the volume of either brain region in this study. It has been suggested that in mild depressive patients, the dysregulation of the limbic and autonomic nervous system may influence the availability of neurobiological resources and metabolic demands, resulting in shorter lags during neural plasticity.\[[@ref24]\]

The significant positive correlation found between the HAMD score and the volume of the left parahippocampal gyrus in our results could be attributed to several factors, which may include emotional factors, cognitive process (such as short-term memory and executive functions), and the processing of emotional facial expressions.\[[@ref19]\] Furthermore, in depressive patients, it has been found that the levels of BDNF, which is involved in the maintenance of neuronal plasticity, are decreased in the parahippocampal gyrus.\[[@ref25]\]
