If a game is “RPG” it’s gonna have RPG elements. RPGs don’t just involve using a point and click interface for battle commands, there’s more to it than that. An RPG involves a story, the choices you make throughout the game will affect the story, the dialogue, the conversations, your relationships with the people you meet. There’s a reason why the name “RPG” is frequently referred to as a “narrative”, because that’s what they are.

Just like in real life, in every RPG, the top end of difficulty is reserved for hardcore RPG players who want to take their characters in a different direction than what the game has planned for them. The hardest difficulty setting in an RPG is like the N-Rating in a movie, it’s very rare and only reserved for the really hardcore fans who want to push the limits of their game as far as they can.
