Schöffl is the best option for a sans-serif font. What’s the point of the funny looking font with the main character that has no upside and can be applied to many different texts? It looks like something out of a retro-futuristic period, it would fit on a computer screen during a time when people lived in trailers.
Overall, the alternative fonts look too monotonous, don’t seem to have another purpose but to remind me of an era when fonts were being fixed into a square canvas, when all the fancy fonts that would be used in an era of superior fonts were being ignored, as fonts were turned into a small part of the total appearance.
The same thing can be seen in the font sizes. Without exception, all the other fonts look too small. In the case of the Latin fonts, it is possible to use sizes from 16 to 24pt. In the case of the latin-extended-a, two sizes of 14pt are available, and in the case of the unicase font, even one size of 18pt was used.

I agree with you, but lets be honest, the intended audience of this resource isn’t a target audience for printed typography. The target audience of this resource is the average web designer or frontend developer, who has a lot of work to do but is browsing the web in his spare time and looking at typography.
