3. **Open the file, which contains the main image and the added overlay.**

I created this logo by using a black-and-white logo and overlay it with a transparent layer of metallic type (see Figure 3-3).

Figure 3-4 gives you the steps to create a layered file in Photoshop.

In this example, I create an image from the original logo, add an overlay, and create a new layer.

1. Create a new document in Photoshop and add a layer named Overlay 1 to it.

2. Create a new layer and name it L2.

3. Choose Layer⇒New⇒Overlay.

The New Layer and New Overlay dialog boxes are separate, but they share the same options. Figure 3-4 shows you the steps to create an overlay layer.

You can also type an overlay from Layer⇒New Layer⇒Overlay from the keyboard.

4. From the menu bar, choose Layer⇒Rasterize Layer.

5. Select the Layer 2 layer, and choose Layer⇒Merge Down.

The Layer 2 layer becomes a single layer over the Overlay 1 layer.

6. Select the black-and-white logo image and choose Edit⇒Copy.

7. Select the Overlay 1 layer and choose Edit⇒Paste.

8. Double-click the Layer 2 layer’s name to open it in the Layers dialog box. From here you can add more Layer 2 layers and Merge layers as needed.

9. From the menu bar, choose File⇒Save.

Photoshop saves the file, so select the Overlay 1 layer from the Layers panel. The figure shows the progress that generates a new file.

10. Select the Overlay 1 layer and choose Layer⇒Merge Down.

11. Select the Layer 2 layer and choose Layer⇒New⇒Overlay.

12. Choose a color from the Color Picker palette, and then drag it to the new overlay that is created.

I chose a light silver color for the overlay.

Adobe Batch Processor is an editing, image transforming or color correcting tool. It supports Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements Ultimate and Photoshop Lightroom. It has a variety of features. You can easily add multiple images to a single batch. With the click of a button, you can convert the images into a single image in your preferred format. It can easily correct color, change color, resize, rotate, sharpen and brighten images. It also allows the user to create a variety of slideshows that are ready to be played back in your slideshow program.

Magic Filter is a filter that is added to your collection of filters by clicking on the “Add collection” tab, then clicking on the “Magic Filters” button. You can apply a large variety of visual effects like Grunge, Pinhole, Wipeout and Warped. It can also add reflections, frost and halos to your image. You can easily control the speed of the filter. Camera Selection is an adjustment that allows you to choose the camera profile of a photo. You can select any camera profile from your photo collection. This improves the color saturation of your image. It also allows you to save the selected image at a specific file size with a defined pixel count.

You can also use the Magic Wand tool for selecting an object in your image; the Add New Layer dialog box will open, and you can choose any color to create a new layer; the Brush dialog box will open and show a preview of the selected color; and you can add a new brush by clicking the New Brush button.

Brushes that you create and save can be accessed by clicking the Brush symbol on the menu bar. You can open the Brush dialog box to modify a brush. To learn more about the Brush dialog box, see the “Working with Brushes” tutorial. You can also customize a brush by selecting the Brush Preset menu and choosing Edit Brush Preset from the drop-down menu.

Brushes are actually not created by using a brush tip, but by applying a gradient effect to a rectangle. There are three types of brushes, symmetrical, radial and gradient. Combine New Layers

A new layer is added above the selected layer. You can use this tool to combine several layers or shapes. The Combine menu appears as soon as you use this tool. You can use the function shortcut, Cmd+K, to quickly combine layers.

Get the Right Space

You can add a Brush in any type of space and place it anywhere on the canvas. The Path Selection tool allows you to choose a brush shape. You can also create a new path with the Pen tool. You can combine paths to create a completely new path, and you can also combine paths with different colors.

Paths in Photoshop are different from vectors in Illustrator. They are vector-based graphic objects which are created with shapes, curves, and straight lines.

Depending on the shape and direction of the curve, you can control the quality and smoothness of the path. A path includes fill and stroke settings. You can set a brush or gradient in any of the settings, and combine them all together in a path. You can place the path in the background, foreground, or another path.

We address the problem of estimating and testing the effect of a treatment in the presence of unmeasured confounding of the form, Y = F(X) + U, where X is a treatment covariate, Y is the outcome, F is a known transformation, and U is a vector of latent confounders. We present doubly robust estimators for the marginal treatment effects. A major goal is to select the best-performing among three approaches: propensity score (PS) based estimators, marginal structural models (MSMs) based on the inverse probability of treatment weighting approach, and doubly robust estimators that use an expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. The best-performing approach in each context is provided by the corresponding doubly robust estimation method for the causal effect. We show that under a high-dimensional setting, the doubly robust estimator is frequently the best-performing among all three estimators, and thus we focus on this estimator for the remainder of the manuscript. We present simulation results demonstrating the good performance of the doubly robust estimator. We also show how our novel estimator can be generalized to the problem of comparing multiple treatments in the presence of unmeasured confounding.
