Adobe Bridge

Much of the power of Photoshop is buried deep in its layers and Photoshop’s scripts and can be difficult to find. So you can be working with a shot and then discover a problem, and you need to change the face of the background or a layer, and chances are you won’t find where the layer is stored.

Thankfully, Photoshop has another tool to help with that. Located in the Photoshop menu bar is a tool named Adobe Bridge, which enables you to find files and photos and images. Bridge should be the first stop for opening and organizing files, particularly RAW files.

You can use Bridge to create virtual albums for your images.

Bridge provides a folder structure and display of your images, not unlike a digital photo frame. To organize your images, simply drag them from the folders to the main areas in Bridge. You can use these folders as a tool to organize your images, whether you’re creating virtual albums for them or for easy access to an image on a computer.

You can use Bridge to create virtual albums.

Instead of organizing your images by placing them in folders, Bridge lets you create virtual albums for your photos or group sets of photos. The albums can include a specific theme or subjects,

How to strip all tags from string in Scala

I have a string in Scala. Now I want to remove all the tags, their substrings and values from the string.
val str = HelloWorld

I have already found this in Scala docs, but it doesn’t work for my case.

There is no need for Try with Scala. Try has a toString method which
will tell you if it is successful or not, in your case since you
already know the value of str you just need to do
str.replaceAll(“.*?”, “”)

or in case you don’t know the substring in advance you can do
str.replaceAll(“”, “”)

If you have a multi-line string or want to replace the entire line with a simple dot just use the following pattern in replacement string as the last argument:
str.replaceAll(“”, “.”)

str.replaceAll(“”, “\.”)

Try without Try.
str.replaceAll(“.*?”, “”)

Unseamed coal is more likely to be exposed to the surface of the underground strata, and thus to the weathering action of atmospheric elements and associated soil and water. This makes unfretted, or unse

The Art of Listening: The Life and Work of Lou Reed

Documentary on the brilliant, flamboyant, and melancholic singer-songwriter

By Neil Young

November 30, 2011

You’ve heard the songs: “Bird on a Wire,” “Last Words,” “Heroin,” and more. Now you can learn the story of the man behind them — as told through an engaging film by Brett Morgen.

Lou Reed is a rock ‘n’ roll legend, a multi-instrumentalist whose songs at once address and defy, mock and embrace, the hippie culture of the early 1970s. His gothic lyrics, full of drug imagery, have also made him a paterfamilias to many of today’s most influential bands (as represented in this film by Young, R.E.M., and a reunited Velvet Underground).

Morgen, best known for his “American Gigolo” and “Smoke Signals,” takes us on a journey through Reed’s life, from his upbringing in Brooklyn to his subsequent departure for Manhattan, where he met and married Jane Holzer (with whom he would have a son, Zef), then on to his turbulent and complicated relationship with heroin.

The resulting story is one of a man who gave up comfort for the road — but the road was not nearly as open to him as it may have been to a contemporary Joni Mitchell or John Lennon. If Reed was reaching for something within himself, it was something fragile and explosive, and came with a price he — and we — would pay.

The film is entertaining and does what Reed himself refused to do, which is make his life sound easy. Morgen’s film is for grownups — of which there may well be fewer now than when the Velvet Underground began.
