Keeping track of various tasks isn't easy without an assistant, and there are numerous software apps specialized in this regard. If you're interested in basic reminders that start counting down time as soon as you specify the duration, then you can try Remind Me In.
This is a lightweight Windows tool that, although hasn't been updated for a long time, it worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests.
Reminder tool that sits in the systray
After installation, it quietly sits in the systray and awaits your commands. Right-click it to open the context menu with countdown options, ranging from 1 minute to 5 hours. Some timers are predefined to help you speed up things by immediately setting a countdown to quickly proceed with your typical desktop activity.
Set the countdown that triggers an audio alert
However, you can also instruct Remind Me In to count down a custom number of minutes before deploying an audio alarm and showing a systray message.
Once the countdown is active, you can right-click the tray icon again to view remaining time, disable the reminder, and access the "Options" menu to pick a different alarm sound (only two are available) or ask the reminder tool to autostart every time you turn on your computer.
No support for custom messages or audio alerts
Unfortunately, Remind Me In doesn't make room for customization. For instance, it doesn't give you the possibility to write custom text that will appear in the notification message or popup window when time's up. Only "Your time is up, Remember…" is displayed.
The alarm sounds are not long enough to draw your attention if you're not attending the computer at the moment, and there is no feature implemented to keep the alarm playing until you stop it yourself. There is, however, a workaround: to replace the two Wave tracks in the installed directory with your own WAV files.
Simple but inflexible reminder app
To sum it up, Remind Me In is a decent app that can draw your attention when working on the PC using audio alerts and messages. It's useful for scheduling breaks, for example. On the other hand, it doesn't have more useful customization options to play with.

As I haven’t seen any reviews of this software, I thought I would post my experience. I purchased this software based on the recommendations of several customers, so I’d be glad to hear what you think of it, even if there were negative comments about it. I’ll start by listing my experience.

First, it works fine. I have a Focusrite 8i interface and have been using this as a simple wake-up method. You can use the 1 and 5 minute timers in the normal wake-up setting to get up at a set time.

Secondly, the loud alarms work fine. They even wake me up if I am not in the same room as the computer. There is even a recessed speaker to place the alarm on the nightstand if you have a nightstand.

Thirdly, it does NOT work in one of the sleep timer ranges I would use. I need at least 6 minutes between wake-up calls. So I have to go in

The most dangerous infection of 2018 so far is well under control, but there’s a new threat that’s sweeping the globe. Cyber security researchers are sounding the alarm about a new version of the WannaCry ransomware that has hit multiple countries. There’s no sign of any ransom demands — yet.
Scientists at the US Department of Homeland Security told the public that the new ransomware worm is “extremely dangerous,” and urged users to remove the infection as soon as possible.
So far, the worm has infected over 30,000 computers in Iran, Taiwan, England, and Spain.

The virus is named after its use of a popular MS17-051 vulnerability, a flaw in Microsoft’s Crypto API for file encryption, that was used to bypass the company’s patching process for several months.
The WannaCry worm starts by encrypting users’ files and demanding a payment of $300 to download a decryption key. It then starts spreading to other PCs and using up CPU and storage space until the ransom is paid.
“It’s impossible to know if and when the infection will occur again,” malware experts said.
Dubbed “NotPetya” by security experts, the cyber threat is the latest in a long line of ransomware attacks that have swept the globe.
Wannacry, however, is different in that it encrypts files without a ransom demand. It demands a ransom in the form of bitcoins or the virtual currency’s equivalent, and said it will delete files after they are paid.
Unlike previous ransomware strains, it doesn’t create a decryption program to unlock the encryption, and it threatens to delete files. So far, no hacker or cyber-

Great app. When you’re on the go and trying to stay in contact with co-workers, students, etc. and one of them is not available, this app will be of great help. The only downside is that you will have to pay a monthly fee but when you consider that you are making contact with a lot of people and that at least some of them are paying for a data plan on their phones, this is well worth it.

This was great for my work calendar. I could use it to get daily conference calls going where I was in one of the conference rooms and call in to them. After that I would call in to a 3rd room and work on the project. I only had to make a few calls a day and I was saving the cost of paying for a conference call. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to make conference calls.
